Yesterday (Saturday the 3rd) was fairly uneventful. However that night, we returned to take the walking tour of the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps. I tossed my coin in the fountain and hopefully will be returning to Rome again in the future! ( I am sorry the video is sideways...)

Today, we put our last day of summer vacation to good use! The day began early (okay so it was 7:45). Michelle and I went to find a good place to go to Mass. I mean how hard is it to find a Catholic Church in Rome? We had heard of an American Church called Santa Susana, and after a good 20 minutes figuring out which bus would hopefully get us in the general area, a lot of guessing, and some wandering, we found Old Susana just fine and on time. Michelle and I were both pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to find and how quickly we got there, God clearly wanted to make sure we weren’t late!
Despite the clouds and warnings of rain, Michelle, Kate, Jesika, Erin, Missy, Billy, Dan, Michael, Alex, and I decided to head to the beach. We figured, even if it was yucky weather, it could be a scouting mission for future beach endeavors. After taking the metro, a train, and a bus ride we arrived at a FREE BEACH! We couldn’t believe our luck- the sun was shining, the water was warm, and the beach was barely crowded! We spent several hours soaking in the sun, sand, and salt water (some of us maybe could have done with less of these, we’re now a very pink and sandy group). But the trip was definitely a success!
Nothing says relaxing like several students reading their textbooks at the beach, but despite the homework, it was a perfect way to celebrate our last day before school.
Junior year, here I come!
